IP=Interoperability (And Other Myths) - by John Verity
02.01.2008
When it comes to discussing cutting-edge trends in security technology, Eclipse Media Group is poised and ready to contribute. As writers and editors in the security market ourselves for more than a decade, we know what makes a great, reputable story -and it starts with a solid source. Here EMG positioned Bob Banerjee, product marketing manager for IP video products at Bosch with writer John Verity. We facilitated the interview and followed up with the writers and editors involved. The result? Contribution to an in-depth discussion on the pros and cons of IP-based cameras, networks and equipment. The article illustrates that on one hand the technology is driving down the cost of hardware, installation, operations and maintenance costs while also improving video imagery, innovative new surveillance techniques and facilitating video's integration with other security systems. Yet the story also recognizes that while adopting IP and taking a big step toward creating open architecture for all kinds of security systems, it doesn't solve all problems of interoperability.

Retail: In a League By Itself -by Linda Pohle
01.01.2008
As a result of Eclipse Media Group's vigilant outreach efforts, SDM writer Linda Pohle interviewed two EMG clients for a prolific vertical market series feature on retail, including what technologies are being used, and how dealers and systems integrators are getting involved. EMG lined up interview opportunities for its clients Dvir Doron of ioimage and Terry Frederickson of Bosch to served as expert sources for this article, raising key points regarding the benefits of video analytic solutions. Keeping an eye on the editorial horizon EMG saw an opportunity, rose to the occasion of introducing the potential it to our clients as well as an industry writer, provided artwork, and sheparded the project from concept to completion.
