OTTOBRUNN, Germany - Bosch Security Systems announced it is continuing on a clear course for growth. Excluding currency effects, sales of security and communication systems and services increased by eight percent to $2 billion in 2007. More than 60 percent of these sales were generated outside Germany. The Asia-Pacific region, South America and Eastern Europe were regions of growth in 2007 with Asia being the most dynamic region. In India and Japan alone, Bosch increased its sales by more than 35 percent. The growth in sales in Europe, excluding currency effects, was seven percent; in America it amounted to five percent.

STUTTGART, Germany - Last year, researchers and developers from the Bosch Group registered more patents than ever before. The number of first-filed patents rose by seven percent to a total of 3,281 - equaling an average of 14 developments submitted to the patent offices for first filing every working day. The number of patents granted and inventions registered to the company in 2007 also rose by eight percent to 6,560. The only Bosch developments that are filed are those that the company feels are sufficiently significant.

The shareholders and option holders have accepted Bosch's offer of 5.00 Canadian dollars per share in cash, resulting in a transaction volume of approximately 93 million Canadian dollars (roughly 63 million euros). With the acquisition of Extreme CCTV, Bosch is strengthening its Security Systems division and extending its activities in video surveillance.
